For Michael Zähl, 2009 was the starting point for the collaborative development of the AM1 mixer in collaboration with producer Mark Ernestus. For Zähl Elektronik-Tontechnik, it was also a return to manufacturing custom-made, tailor-made audio products.

Known for his work for Conny Plank's studio and the legendary band Can, Zähl today develops tailor-made technology for well-known electronic music artists. His clients include Mark Ernestus, Tobi Neumann, Ben Klock, dBridge.
